Passenger Demand Accelerates in March, Load Factor Sets Another Record

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for March 2018 showing that demand (measured in revenue passenger kilometers, or RPKs) rose 9.5%, compared to the same month a year ago, the fastest pace in 12 months. Capacity (available seat kilometers, or ASKs) grew 6.4% and load factor climbed 2.3 percentage points to 82.4%, which set a record for the month, following on the record set in February. First Airbus A321LR completes hot weather tests at Sharjah International Airport

Transatlantic mission capable single aisle on track for 2018 entry into service  Airbus’ first A321LR has completed a set of hot weather tests at Sharjah International Airport. The hot weather tests which began on Tuesday 27th March, were performed to check the aircraft’s systems’ behaviour with a focus on the cabin, including cooling performance on the ground. The tests are part of a 100-hour flight test programme following the aircraft’s maiden flight on 31st January 2018.
