ETIHAD CARGO EXPANDS GLOBAL NETWORK WITH LAUNCH OF SERVICES TO BARCELONA

With the launch of Etihad Airways passenger services to Barcelona, Etihad Cargo has expanded its cargo capacity into Spain, providing freight forwarders and cargo customers greater access to its global network along key trade routes connecting Europe to the Middle East, Africa and Asia over its Abu Dhabi hub. Etihad launched its first scheduled flights linking Abu Dhabi and Barcelona on November 28. ETIHAD AIRWAYS CELEBRATE ITS 15-YEAR ANNIVERSARY BY COMMEMORATING ITS FIRST COMMERCIAL FLIGHT

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, today marked 15 years since its inaugural commercial flight to Beirut on 12 November 2003. In a fitting tribute to the first flight, guests travelling on flight EY535 to the Lebanese capital enjoyed a cake-cutting ceremony at the departure gate this morning. ETIHAD AIRWAYS OPERATES ICONIC A380 TO MALDIVES TO CELEBRATE NEW MALE RUNWAY OPENING

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has marked the opening of the new runway at Velana International Airport in the Maldives by operating one of its Airbus A380 aircraft to the island nation. The new 3,400 metre-long and 60-metre-wide runway is the first in the Maldives capable of supporting an A380. Etihad Airways has offered its heartfelt congratulations to Emiratis, Hazza Al Mansouri and Sultan Al Nayadi, who have been selected as the first Arab Nationals to visit the International Space Station. Hazza and Sultan were chosen ahead of more than 4,000 candidates for the landmark mission to the habitable satellite hovering above earth.
